The agreement between you and the operator of this site. Short, because the site does one thing.
Last updated 5 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Fuji Presets — reading the feed, keeping a library of film-simulation recipes, publishing them, and writing them to a Fujifilm camera. The operator is Philip Stapelfeldt. By using the site you agree to them.
An account is free, personal, and yours to close at any time. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it is compromised.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. Registration may be open, invite-only or closed at the operator’s discretion.
You keep every right you have in the recipes, sets, names, notes and pictures you upload. Neither uploading nor publishing transfers ownership or any copyright to the operator — nothing passes to Philip Stapelfeldt beyond the licence below.
What publishing does grant is a licence — non-exclusive, worldwide and free — for the site to store, display and distribute that content so other people can see it, and for other users to save it, use it and remix it into recipes of their own. That is what a community feed is; without this licence the Publish button would have nothing to do.
Withdrawing a recipe from the feed ends that licence going forward. It cannot undo what has already happened: a remix somebody made is their own work and stays theirs, and copies already downloaded or written to a camera are beyond anyone’s reach.
Camera settings themselves — an exposure compensation of +2/3, a grain setting — are facts about a photograph rather than creative works, and nothing here claims otherwise.
Upload only pictures you took yourself, or whose rights you otherwise hold in full. Photos found online, taken from another photographer’s site or someone else’s feed are not yours to upload here, even with credit.
If a picture shows a recognisable person, you are responsible for having their consent to publish it. By uploading, you confirm that the picture infringes nobody’s rights — copyright, personality rights or otherwise.
If a third party brings a claim against the operator because of something you uploaded or published in breach of these terms, you indemnify the operator against that claim — including the reasonable costs of a legal defence at statutory rates. This applies only where you are responsible for the breach. The operator will tell you about such a claim promptly and give you the opportunity to respond to it and to take part in the defence.
The operator may unpublish content that breaks the rules above, and may suspend an account that keeps doing it.
Unpublishing is not deleting. A recipe taken out of the feed stays in your library, still yours, still editable, with the reason recorded — so you can ask about it, and so an edit of yours does not silently put it back. Your library is not what is at risk when a moderator acts.
This is the part worth reading carefully.
The site talks to Fujifilm bodies over a protocol that is not publicly documented and was worked out by observation. It behaves differently across models and firmware versions.
Writing a recipe to a bank overwrites whatever is in that slot, and the camera keeps no undo. Note down settings you care about before you replace them.
Use of the camera features is entirely at your own risk. The operator is not liable for settings lost this way, nor for any malfunction of or damage to your camera, its memory card or its firmware that results from connecting it to this site — within the limits set out under Liability.
Fujifilm is not affiliated with this site and does not endorse it. “Fujifilm”, “X-Trans” and the film-simulation names are trademarks of their owner, used here only to describe what a setting is.
This is a private, non-commercial project. It costs nothing, sells nothing, carries no advertising and takes no donations.
So the site is offered as it is. There is no uptime guarantee, features may change, and the service may be discontinued. If it is shut down, you will be given a reasonable chance to export your library first.
You use this site, and everything it does, at your own risk. The operator accepts no liability for damage arising from it, except where the law does not allow that to be excluded:
The operator is liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. Liability under the Produkthaftungsgesetz is unaffected.
For ordinary negligence, the operator is liable only for breach of an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of this agreement possible in the first place and on which you may reasonably rely — and then only for foreseeable, typical damage. All other liability for ordinary negligence is excluded.
Content published by other users is theirs, not the operator’s, and no guarantee is made that a recipe someone published produces any particular result.
You may delete your account at any time, which removes your recipes, sets and profile. The operator may terminate an account for repeated or serious breaches of these terms, with notice where it is reasonable to give it.
German law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in.
The operator is neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
These terms may change. Material changes will be announced before they take effect, and the date at the top will say when they last did.
